- Measure the pressure in PSI on the discharge side drain plug port of the pump
- Measure the vacuum in inches of mercury In Hg on the suction side drain plug port of the pump
- Calculate TDH using calculator below
- Plot the TDH and RPMs on the performance curve of the pump to estimate the Gallons Per Minute (GPM) using the velocity table. This will be your Reference RPM and GPM to calculate the Target GPM.
Calculate New RPM based on desired GPM and Reference RPM and GPM
Optimal flow should yield speeds between 6 and 8 fps to avoid over stressing the equipment.
